On Thursday 25th October 2018, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalisation, the Dean of the Institute of Science, the Head of the School of Electrical Engineering and the Deputy of the Centre for International Affairs visited Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP) in China.
The first part of the morning marked the meeting between the SUT representatives and SUEP’s College of Electrical Engineering. The topics of discussion included academic staff exchange, visiting scholars and joint research conferences. In addition, SUEP was very interested in research co-supervision for Ph.D. students in electric power and energy storage. The SUT representatives were very fortunate to have the College’s Vice Dean show them the Urban Power System Simulation Lab and two sets of Realtime Digital Simulator which cost them over 20 million yuan. The College can boast that over 80% of their Bachelor students and 100% of their Master students are able to find a job in electric power after graduation.
The meeting with the College of Mathematics and Physics was then held in the second half of the morning. Many possible future collaborations were discussed, including joint research between the two universities which could lead to the set up of formal international joint research centres. The College of Mathematics and Physics is outstanding in the fields of solar cells, nano energy, energy harvesting, functional materials and advanced physics. วันพฤหัสบดีที่ 25 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2561 ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สันติ แม้นสิริ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและพัฒนาความเป็นสากล ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วรวัฒน์ มีวาสนา คณบดีสำนักวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธนัดชัย กุลวรวริชพงษ์ หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมไฟฟ้า และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ศิรปัฐช์ บุญครอง รองผู้อำนวยการศูนย์กิจการนานาชาติ เดินทางไป Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP)
ในช่วงแรกของช่วงเช้าของวัน คณะของ มทส. ได้รับการต้อนรับจาก Prof. Dr. Zhao Ling รองคณบดีจาก College of Electrical Engineering และคณาจารย์ ซึ่ง College of Engineering เป็นคณะแรกที่ได้รับการก่อตั้งของ SUEP เพื่อการดูแลเรื่องไฟฟ้าในภาคตะวันออกของประเทศจีน โดย College of Electrical Engineering นั้น อยู่ในกลุ่ม Top 5% ของมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศจีน การประชุมระหว่างสองมหาวิทยาลัยได้มีการเจรจาความร่วมมือนหลาย ๆ ด้าน เช่น การแลกเปลี่ยนคณาจารย์ การร่วมกันจัดงานประชุมวิชาการ แต่สิ่งที่ทาง College of Electrical Engineering มีความสนใจมากที่สุดคือ การดำเนินการให้คำปรึกษาร่วม หรือ Co-Supervision ให้แก่นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอกในด้านไฟฟ้ากำลัง (Electric Power) และการเก็บพลังงาน (Energy Storage)
นอกจากนั้น Prof. Dr. Zhao Ling ได้พาเยี่ยมชม Urban Power System Simulatio Lab และ Real Time Digital Simulator ซึ่งทาง College of Electrical Engineering ได้ลงทุนมากกว่า 20 ล้านหยวน เพื่อเป็นสถานที่ที่นักศึกษาสามารถฝึกการควบคุมและดูแลโครงข่ายไฟฟ้าแบบเสมือนจริงได้ Prof. Dr. Zhao Ling กล่าวว่า นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีที่จบการศึกษาไปนั้น มากกว่าร้อยละ 80 และระดับปริญญาโท ร้อยละ 100 สามารถหางานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับไฟฟ้าได้ทันที
จากนั้น ในช่วงสาย คณะของ มทส. ได้มีโอกาสประชุมร่วมกับ Prof. Dr. Yongsheng Liu รองคณบดี ผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์จาก College of Mathematics and Physics ซึ่งเป็นคณะที่เน้นการเรียนการสอนและการวิจัยด้านคณิตศาสตร์ ฟิสิกส์ และพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ โดยทาง College of Mathematics and Physics มีความกระตือรือร้นอย่างมากที่จะมีความร่วมมืออย่างจริงจังกับทาง มทส. โดยเน้นเรื่องของการทำวิจัยร่วมกัน ทั้งนี้ College of Mathematics and Physics เป็นคณะที่มีความโดดเด่นอย่างมากในการวิจัยเรื่อง Solar Cells, Nano Energy, Energy Harvesting, Functional Materials และ Advanced Physics นอกจากนั้น การแลกเปลี่ยนอาจารย์ก็เป็นอีกเรื่องหนึ่งที่สามารถเกิดขึ้นได้ ระหว่างสองมหาวิทยาลัย ::: ภาพข่าว :::
