In the afternoon of the 13th November 2018, Dr. Eddy Moran, a Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Sterling, Scotland visited Suranaree University of Technology (SUT).
The Director of the Centre for International Affairs (CIA) and lecturers from the Institute of Nursing welcomed Dr. Moran at Saranites Meeting Room.
University of Sterling is renowned for its Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC). Dr. Moran was, therefore, interested in finding a partner university to carry out further research in this particular area. This appears to suit SUT very well since SUT has got researchers working on dementia already.
Dr. Moran also mentioned that if SUT’s English teaching staff were interested in upgrading to a PhD, University of Stirling had a PhD in TESOL Research, which has a first year of taught courses.
In addition, Dr. Moran’s Faculty of Social Sciences has a new masters programme in Social Enterprise. This is designed for people who want to set up enterprises that are run on business lines, but aim to perform a social function. This might be the kind of thing that SUT’s graduates might be interested in or SUT’s staff might be interested in for PhD research.
