
December 17- 19, 2025 – Dr. Laksamon Raksaksri from Suranaree University of Technology’s Materials Engineering Program visited Gyeongsang National University (GNU) in South Korea from December 17-19, 2025, to present research at the 2025 GNU International Symposium on Advanced Materials (ISAM) and discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
During the three-day visit, Dr. Laksamon met with GNU faculty including Prof. Park Jun Hong, Prof. Se Yun Kim, Prof. Jaekyung Sung, and Prof. Dong Jun Kwon to introduce SUT’s Materials Engineering Program and explore research alignment opportunities.

At the ISAM symposium, organized by Prof. Sung-Gyu Kang and Prof. Gyeong Hee Ryu, Dr. Laksamon exchanged technical perspectives with international scholars from Institut Teknologi Bandung, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Prasetiya Mulya University, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

The visit also included discussions on undergraduate student exchange programs for students with strong English skills interested in pursuing master’s degrees at GNU, as well as tours of ceramics, metals, and polymer research laboratories. An in-depth discussion on research collaboration took place with Prof. Dong Jun Kwon at his Composite Materials and Testing Laboratory.
