NCKU-SUT
Collaboration
in Semiconductor and Smart
Electronic Engineering Programme
A collaborative meeting on March 13, 2025 between Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and
Sustainable Manufacturing (AISSM), NCKU, and SUT delegation, kindly organized by Chair Professor Fong-
Chin Su, Executive Director of the Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC), has driven a
new dimension for SUT in Semiconductors in Thailand. Assistant to the Rector, Dr. Panya Buahombura, and
CIA Deputy Director, Dr. Tapany Patcharawit, represented SUT in a meeting also attended by President of
Chiang Mai University, Prof. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, and the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaya,
Malaysia, Prof. Noor Azuan Osman, to explore collaborations on Semiconductor Technology at All Scales
by NCKU. Discussions emphasized the core technology of semiconductor including materials, chip design,
fabrication, assembly & testing and pathways for joint collaboration on student mobilty (Summer School
2025), short-long term research and scholar visits.
In an exclusive meeting with Associate Dean Prof. Wei-Chou Hsu,
Institute of Microelectronics and Prof. Dr. Wen-Dung Hsu,
Department of Materials Science and Engineering, SUT
proposed areas of collaboration on student mobility, academic
exchange and training, especially to Co-Create the Cooperative
and Work-Integrated Education in Semiconductor area to offer
students, academic and industrial experts working closedly
together in a customized and focused field of semiconductors.
With more comprehensive activities to be discussed and planned
for 2025, we look forward to fruitful future collaborations.
