
Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), warmly welcomed a distinguished delegation from i-CATS University College, Sarawak, Malaysia, on 1 December 2025 for an official visit aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and expanding joint research initiatives.

The delegation was led by Emeritus Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohamad Kadim bin Suadi, Vice Chancellor of i-CATS, and accompanied by Professor Ts. Dr. Leo Sing Lim, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Energy Transition; Dr. Sharon Esther, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality; and Professor Ts. Dr. Hushairi bin Zen, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

SUT’s executive team, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitichai Seangratt, Acting Rector, together with representatives from the Center for International Affairs (CIA), the Institute of Research and Development (IRD), and the Institute of Engineering, actively participated in the discussions throughout the visit.

The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in key academic areas including energy transition, hydrogen storage research, engineering, tourism, and hospitality. Both institutions explored opportunities for joint research projects, dual-degree programs, academic exchanges, and staff-student mobility programs.

During the visit, the delegation attended institutional presentations, visited the Hydrogen Storage Materials and System Laboratory, and toured key research facilities, including the Center of Excellence for Biomass.
The visit concluded on a highly positive note, with both institutions identifying clear directions for continuous academic and research collaboration in the future.
