In the face of increased competition, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) continues to maintain its position and is ranked 1201-1500 globally in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University rankings 2025. Within Thailand, SUT ranks 6th overall and 3rd among Thai technological universities.
SUT shows strong performance across the five pillars in Thailand being:
– 6th for Industry,
– 7th for Research Environment,
– 8th for Teaching,
– 10th for International Outlook,
– 12th for Research Quality.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anan Tongraar, SUT Rector, stated that the results “Reflect the dedication of the staff to deliver excellence in teaching and research as we work towards our goal of becoming an innovative and sustainable university.”
The THE World University Rankings have become increasingly competitive in recent years with 2,857 universities submitting data and 2,092 of them included in the final rankings. In Thailand, 20 universities are now ranked with
– Chulalongkorn University and Mahidol University at 601-800
– King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi at 801-1000
– Chiang Mai University, and Khon Kaen University at 1001-1200
making up the country’s Top 5 institutions.
