SUT Representative Attends Nordic Day 2026 to Strengthen International Networks

On February 4, 2026, Mr. Lars Andersson, Coordinator for International Organizations and Multinational Corporations at the Center for International Affairs, Suranaree University of Technology, attended the Nordic Day: National Day Celebrations of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden at the Norwegian Ambassador’s residence in Bangkok.

The purpose of attending was to ensure SUT stays relevant and to continue building awareness of the university’s existence among Nordic organizations, as well as to establish and strengthen international collaboration networks.

Key Networking Highlights

Mr. Lars Andersson met with several important representatives, including:

  • Anna Hammargren, Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, and Per Linnér, Deputy Head of Mission at the Swedish Embassy, who plays a central role in SAAB’s offset discussions related to Thailand’s Gripen purchase
  • Peter Börjesson (Ericsson) – Discussed the innovation center in Chonburi working with DEPA
  • Warin Ratchananusorn, Vice President and Head of Digital Eco System Promotion Unit – Explored collaboration opportunities with Jönköping University for Thai student training programs, which could extend to SUT and other Nordic partners
  • Peter Björk, President of the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce – Discussed membership value for SUT
  • Lars Svensson (SAAB) – Discussed SUT’s bamboo project, which is gaining increased attention

Mr. Lars Andersson also exchanged business cards with many other attendees, supporting long-term recognition of SUT.

The Nordic Day attendance successfully strengthened networks with Nordic organizations, opened opportunities for future collaboration, and elevated SUT’s international visibility.
