Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) recently hosted esteemed guests, Prof. Ts. Dr. Shanti Faridah binti Salleh and Ts. Dr. Josephine Lai Chang Hui from the Institute of Sustainable and Renewable Energy (ISuRE) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Malaysia. Their visit, spanning from May 8th to May 9th, 2024, was coordinated by the Center for International Affairs (CIA) and Technopolis to fortify the existing collaboration between the two institutions and deliberate on avenues for academic cooperation and research initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Led by Dr. Pantip Piyathasanon, Assistant to the Rector for Engagement, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, and other key faculty members, discussions also encompassed sustainable practices, including waste management and carbon neutrality.
Specialized talks were conducted, highlighting topics such as ‘Carbon Neutral and Net Zero’ and ‘Circular and Waste Management’ easing strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing waste management operations. This exchange further solidified SUT’s commitment to fostering sustainable practices and collaborative partnerships in academia.
