Distinguished International Associates programme R4

The Distinguished International Associates programme offers grants of £10,000 to engineers and researchers based outside the UK in order to build links with the UK engineering community. Join a growing international network of experts offering engagement and collaboration opportunities.

Eligibility:

-Lead applicants must be based outside the UK.
-Aimed at mid-late career researchers with an international track record.
-Recognition as international leaders or emerging leaders in their field.
-Allowance for applicants with career breaks.

Area of Work:

-Related to ‘Technologies for the Future,’ including AI, future telecommunications, semiconductors, and quantum technologies.

Collaboration and Goals:

-Must have existing collaboration with the UK.
-Collaboration should contribute to the Academy’s strategic goals: sustainable society or inclusive economy.
-Objective: Strengthen collaboration among researchers, innovators, and practitioners in cutting-edge engineering.

Affiliation and Funding:

-Applicants should be affiliated with an organization, institution, or university.
-Funding administered through affiliated entities.
-Due diligence checks required for non-UK applicants upon award offer.

Eligibility Restrictions:

DIA alumni and current awardees cannot apply in the fourth round but can collaborate.

Highlighting Value:

-Proposed activities should emphasize strengthened links for the home country’s engineering community.
-Expectation for Associates to actively promote and communicate this value.
-Innovative use of technology encouraged for engagement in activities.
