On Canada Day, July 1, Ambassador Dr. Sarah Taylor is pleased to announce the initiation of a project, in collaboration with officials from อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่ – Khao Yai National Park and Suranaree University of Technology, that will see the development of a Thailand-Canada Friendship Trail in Klong Pla Kang in Dong Phayayen – Khao Yai Forest Complex, a UNESCO heritage site. The smart trail system will include a digital media mobile application and interpretive programs, developed by Suranaree University of Technology, to educate visitors along the natural hiking trail. The project is being initiated as a legacy of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Canada, and will stand as an enduring symbol of friendship between the peoples of Thailand and Canada and their shared interest in the care and preservation of our natural environment. The developed trail will also promote economic sustainability so that local communities can thrive alongside the national park.
เนื่องในวันชาติแคนาดาในวันที่ 1 กรกฎาคม เอกอัครราชทูต ดร.ซาราห์ เทย์เลอร์ มีความยินดีที่จะประกาศการริเริ่มโครงการ ซึ่งเป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่และมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี ในการพัฒนาเส้นทางเดินป่าธรรมชาติ มิตรภาพไทย-แคนาดา ในพื้นที่คลองปลากั้ง ดงพญาเย็น อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาใหญ่ ซึ่งขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นมรดกโลกโดยยูเนสโก สำหรับการใช้ระบบทางเดินอัจฉริยะนั้น จะมีสื่อดิจิทัลแอปพลิเคชั่นบนมือถือและโปรแกรมให้ข้อมูลความรู้ซึ่งพัฒนาโดยมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี เพื่อให้ความรู้แก่ผู้เยี่ยมชมตามเส้นทางเดินป่าธรรมชาติ โครงการนี้เริ่มต้นขึ้นเพื่อเป็นของขวัญในโอกาสครบรอบ 60 ปีความสัมพันธ์ทางการฑูตระหว่างประเทศไทยและประเทศแคนาดา อีกทั้งยังเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งมิตรภาพอันยั่งยืนระหว่างประชาชนในประเทศไทยและประเทศแคนาดา สิ่งสำคัญอีกอย่างหนึ่งคือประโยชน์ในการดูแลและรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อมทางธรรมชาติของเรา เส้นทางที่พัฒนาแล้วเสร็จจะส่งเสริมความยั่งยืนทางเศรษฐกิจชุมชนเพื่อให้เศรษฐกิจท้องถิ่นสามารถเจริญเติบโตควบคู่ไปกับอุทยานแห่งชาติต่อไป
