SUT’s Executives visited NPUST, Taiwan

 

On 23 November 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan, the Rector of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), together with the Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) and the Director of the Centre for International Affairs (CIA), attended National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) 95th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony. The SUT Rector, the Dean of IAT and the Director of CIA had a meeting with Dean of College of Agriculture (Dr. Fure-Chyi Chen), Vice Dean (Dr. Wen-Ling Shih), Department of Food Science (Prof. Shyang-Chwen Sheu), Department of Aquacluture (Dr. Tsung-Meng Wu) and visited Chi Yueh Company (Top 2 Phalaenopsis exporter of Taiwan).

The discussion that SUT and NPUST had involved around the agreement of Master/Ph.D. double degree programes for each school under the Institute of Agricultural Technology and cooperative education and internship at Chi Yueh Company.

All of these will surely improve our internationalisation and, more importantly, will provide a chance for our students to be exposed with necessary experience to become a more complete 21st Century citizen.

 

On Friday 22st November 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan, the Rector of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), together with the Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) and the Director of the Centre for International Affairs (CIA), had a meeting with the President of National Pingtung University of Sciene and Technology (NPUST).

The NPUST management team, including the Director of Languange Centre, Director of the Vet Lab Services, an Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture, the Chair of the Department of Agribusiness Management and a Professor from the Department of Food Science were also there to greet the SUT team.

The discussion that SUT and NPUST had involved around the possibilities of double degree programes and cooperative education for agricultural technology and engineering students.

All of these will surely improve our internationalisation and, more importantly, will provide a chance for our students to be exposed with necessary experience to become a more complete 21st Century citizen.

 

The SUT Rector Opened the NPUST Sports Day.

On Thursday 21st November 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan, the Rector of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) traveled to Taiwan and was invited to be the chair of the opening ceremony of the university sports day at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST).

The Rector, together with the Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Technology and the Director of the Centre for International Affairs, will be at NPUST for a couple more days. They will participate in the 95th University Anniversary Celebration.

NPUST was founded in the year 1924 during the period of Japanese colonial ruling, it’s been 95 years until today. NPUST consists of 6 colleges, 27 departments and 10,863 students in total. NPUST has also been recognised as the most successful agriculture expertise university in vocational-education in Taiwan. Moreover, NPUST has also been ranked as the most beautiful Green University in Taiwan.

NPUST and SUT have had a strong relationship together, especially in the area of agricultural technology. It is hoped that by being there, the relationship between the two universities will be strengthened even further.
