The Center for International Affairs, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), organized the “Discover Wang Nam Khiao: One-Day Local Tourism Experience” on Friday, 20 February 2026, in Wang Nam Khiao District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The program aimed to promote experiential learning in community-based tourism, value-added agriculture, and sustainable local development.
The journey began in the morning with a visit to the 24th “Chrysanthemums Blooming in the Mist Festival,” where participants enjoyed the scenic mountain landscape and cool February atmosphere while engaging in group photography activities to strengthen team spirit.
The group then visited Mister Mushroom, a well-known agrotourism site, to study controlled mushroom cultivation processes and sustainable farming practices. Participants also tasted Cordyceps militaris tea and explored locally produced agricultural products, supporting community-based enterprises.
In the afternoon, hands-on workshops were conducted at Mae Mon Farm. Participants learned about Thai herbal varieties and blending techniques to create personalized herbal tea products. Another workshop introduced mulberry cultivation and guided participants through the process of making mulberry yogurt ice cream, highlighting value-added product development and small-scale food processing techniques.
The activity successfully integrated academic learning with real-world community engagement, fostering teamwork, creativity, and a deeper understanding of sustainable tourism and agricultural innovation.
