SUT Global Entrepreneurship Camp 2026 (GEC 2026)

On February 2, 2026, at Innovation Playground, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) officially launched the 6th SUT Global Entrepreneurship Camp 2026 (GEC 2026), advancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem to an international level. The program brings together Thai and international student representatives from 11 countries to brainstorm and create innovations under the concept “Sustainable and Resilient Communities: Innovating for a Healthier Planet and People.” The program promotes students and participants to learn, engage, and connect as global citizens, based on awareness of social issues, through learning processes for developing new business concepts and social innovations, while practicing international language skills for cross-cultural communication and learning.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Sitthichai Sangaroon, Acting President of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), with Dr. Niwat Nualsing, Acting Head of the Student Entrepreneurship Development Academy (SEDA) Project, SUT, Dr. Mallika Sangsnit, Head of the Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship, along with executives who welcomed and participated in the activities.

The SUT Global Entrepreneurship Camp 2026 was held from January 30 to February 9, 2026, organized in collaboration with the Student Entrepreneurship Development Academy (SEDA) Project, Center for International Affairs, and Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship, SUT. The event brought together 74 Thai and international students from 11 countries: Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand, to exchange learning and engage in activities to explore entrepreneurship and innovation, connecting to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various activities such as workshops, site visits, and cultural exchanges. The speaker was Dr. Nattavikhom Phantuwongphakdee, Deputy Director of the Research Center for Sustainable Development Goals Support, Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University (SDG Move). Activities included Problem Pitch SDGs, a platform for pitching ideas to solve problems in dimensions of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Experiential Learning included university campus visits and experiencing Thai art and culture through “Muay Thai” to build relationships and break the ice at an international level.

Through this event, SUT aims to create international collaboration networks and promote students to develop a Global Mindset with social responsibility, which will be a key driving force in creating concrete “Sustainable and Resilient Communities” in the future.
