
Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) remains in joint 9th place in Thailand and 1201-1400 globally in the QS World Rankings 2026 announced on 19th June 2025. The annual QS World Rankings evaluate thousands of institutions based on a range of different indicators including academic reputation, citations, employment outcomes and sustainability.
This year 1,501 universities were ranked based on 19.8 million academic publications and over 200 million citations, with 112 new entrants making this year’s rankings the most competitive in their history. Against this backdrop SUT has not only maintained its position but has also seen substantial improvements in 8 out of 9 indicators compared to last year:•
– Academic Reputation: +59.4%•
– Employer Reputation: +132.1%•
– Faculty/Student Ratio: +59.5%•
– Citations per Faculty: +74%•
– International Faculty Ratio: +27.6%•
– International Student Ratio: +50%•
– Employment Outcomes: +18.5%•
– Sustainability: +3,330.8%

Notably, SUT achieved the 2nd highest score in Thailand for the Citations per Faculty indicator, reflecting the university’s continued efforts to enhance academic quality, research, internationalization, and global reputation.
