University of Waterloo Student Joins SUT Cooperative Education Program

Kel Chen (standing in the center), an undergraduate student in the Environmental Studies Program from the University of Waterloo, Canada, is visiting Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Thailand, as an inbound exchange student from May to August 2026. The student will participate in a Cooperative Education Program at the Center for Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Suranaree University of Technology (CRSPG-SUT).

The program aims to promote international academic collaboration, experiential learning, and environmental sustainability through research and practical engagement in plant genetic conservation.

During the program, Kel Chen will gain hands-on experience in environmental and conservation-related activities under the framework of cooperative education and work-integrated learning. The placement at CRSPG-SUT provides opportunities to explore biodiversity conservation, sustainable resource management, and environmental research practices in Thailand.

The exchange program reflects SUT’s commitment to international affairs, global cooperation, and interdisciplinary academic collaboration. It also supports the university’s mission to strengthen partnerships with leading international institutions while fostering cross-cultural learning and sustainability-focused education.

Suranaree University of Technology warmly welcomes Kel Chen from the University of Waterloo to the SUT campus and wishes them a meaningful and rewarding learning experience in Thailand.
