On Saturday, 25 April 2026, SUT international students from Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Bangladesh joined Thai students at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) in the Suranaree Songkran Festival 2026 — celebrating Thai New Year through a vibrant parade contest and cultural ceremonies. The event was organized by the SUT Student Union in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, with support from the Center for International Affairs (CIA), and officially opened by Acting Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sittichai Seangatith at the Student Activity Hall.
Representing the international community on the main stage, Ms. Brigitta Dayinta [M68], a Master’s student in the Animal Technology and Innovation Program from Indonesia, proudly competed in the Songkran Beauty Queen Competition. The afternoon parade featured 24 student teams marching from SUT Sports Facilities to the Cultural Plaza, where participants and guests enjoyed live music, water-splashing activities, and a foam party well into the evening.
