In the afternoon of the 25th October 2018, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalisation, the Dean of the Institute of Science, the Head of the School of Electrical Engineering and the Deputy Director of the Centre for International Affairs had a meeting with the Chairman of SUEP Council, Professor Li Mingfu. The Chairman introduced SUEP to the SUT members that SUEP now focused on renewable energy and electric power industry. He mentioned that there were 12 colleges with over 30 majors at SUEP serving over 13,000 students.
SUEP is a very well established university that is very proud of its research and teaching achievements. Recently, the university has received the 1st prize from Shanghai Government for teaching. According to the Chairman, this is the highest teaching award in Shanghai.
Moreover, Professor Li Mingfu emphasised on international development which has now become a very important strategy, especially with the One Belt One Road countries.
The Chairman suggested that this would be a good chance for SUT and SUEP to start their relationship in research, teaching development and international laboratory collaborations.
Here, the SUT Vice Rector had a chance to present a special souvenir to the Chairman in order to mark the 67th anniversary of the establishment of SUEP.

ช่วงบ่ายของวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 25 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2561 ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สันติ แม้นสิริ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและพัฒนาความเป็นสากล ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วรวัฒน์ มีวาสนา คณบดีสำนักวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธนัดชัย กุลวรวริชพงษ์ หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมไฟฟ้า และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ศิรปัฐช์ บุญครอง รองผู้อำนวยการศูนย์กิจการนานาชาติ ได้มีโอกาสเข้าพบ Professor Li Mingfu, Chairman of SUEP Council ซึ่ง Professor Li Mingfu ได้แนะนำให้คณะจาก มทส. ได้รู้จักกับ SUEP มากขึ้น ดังนี้
SUEP เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่ ณ ปัจจุบันเน้นในด้านพลังงานทดแทน และอุตสาหกรรมไฟฟ้ากำลัง ซึ่งมีทั้งหมด 12 คณะ 30 สาขาวิชา และจัดการเรียนการสอนให้นักศึกษากว่า 13,000 คน นอกจากนั้น SUEP ยังมีความภูมิใจในความสำเร็จทั้งด้านการวิจัยและการเรียนการสอน โดยทางมหาวิทยาลัยได้รับรางวัลอันดับที่ 1 จากรัฐบาลของเซี่ยงไฮ้ ในด้านการสอน และรางวัลนี้เป็นรางวัลที่ทรงคุณค่าและรางวัลที่สูงที่สุดในเซี่ยงไฮ้ด้วย
Professor Li Mingfu กล่าวอีกว่า นโยบายของ SUEP กำลังเน้นด้านการพัฒนาความเป็นสากลและการสร้างความร่วมมือกับมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะมหาวิทยาลัยที่อยู่ในกลุ่มประเทศ One Belt One Road
สุดท้ายท่านนายกสภามหาวิทยาลัย SUEP กล่าวว่า ตอนนี้เป็นโอกาสที่ดีมากสำหรับ มทส. และ SUEP ที่จะสร้างความร่วมมือกันอย่างจริงจัง โดยเฉพาะในเรื่องการวิจัย การพัฒนาการเรียนการสอน และการร่วมมือในการดำเนินการสร้างห้องปฏิบัติการวิจัยระดับนานาชาติร่วมกัน
ทั้งนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สันติ แม้นสิริ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและพัฒนาความเป็นสากล ได้เป็นตัวแทน มทส. ในการมอบของที่ระลึกแก่ท่านนายกสภามหาวิทยาลัย SUEP เนื่องในโอกาสวันสถาปนาครบรอบ 67 ปี ของมหาวิทยาลัยอีกด้วย
