On Thursday 19th April 2018, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan, Rector of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) together with SUT representatives visited University of Victoria (UVic) in Canada. One of the purposes of the visit was to begin the collaboration in cooperative education, with the emphasis on enterprose cooperative education or e-coop. Prof. Kin Li, the Director of Professional Programs was there to discuss the subject.
Later on, the SUT Rector and his team discussed the possibility of collaboration in entrepreneurship with Ms. Tyler West andmembers from the Coast Capital Innovation Centre.
The final activity on the day was to attend the three-party MoU signing ceremony, which included University of Victoria, Western Digital and Suranaree University of Technology. At the ceremony, the SUT representatives were welcome by the Ms. Carmen Charette, Vice President for External Relations.
SUT has become the fourth university from Thailand to have an MoU with UVic. The visit at UVic is the first formal collaboration which focuses on cooperative education among other areas. With this agreement in place, SUT has put another step forward towards the development of internationalisation.
เมื่อวันที่ 19 เมษายน 2561 คณะผู้บริหาร มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี นำโดยอธิการบดี รศ.ดร. วีระพงษ์ แพสุวรรณ พร้อมคณะ ได้เดินทางเยี่ยมชมแคมปัสของ University of Victoria (UVic) ประเทศแคนาดา พร้อมเข้าหารือความร่วมมือด้านสหกิจศึกษาเน้นทางด้าน Enterprise cooperative education (E-Coop) กับ Prof. Kin Li, Director of Professional Programs จากนั้นเข้าหารือแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และความร่วมมือด้าน Entrepreneurship กับ Ms Tyler West และคณะจาก Coast Capital Innovation Center และเข้าร่วมพิธีการลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลง MoU ด้านสหกิจศึกษา ระหว่าง Uvic-WD/SUT ทั้งนี้ได้รับเกียรติจากคณะผู้บริหารของ UVic นำโดย Ms Carmen Charette, Vice President for External Relations ให้การต้อนรับ เมื่อวันที่ 19 เมษายน 2561
มทส. เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งที่ 4 จากประเทศไทยที่มีความร่วมมือกับ UVic และการเดินทางมาสร้างความร่วมมือกับ UVic ในครั้งนี้ นับเป็นการเปิดความร่วมมืออย่างเป็นทางการครั้งแรก ซึ่งเน้นพัฒนางานด้านสหกิจศึกษาร่วมกัน รวมถึงด้านอื่นๆให้เข้มแข็ง เป็นการพัฒนาความเป็นสากลของ มทส. ให้ดียิ่งๆขึ้นไปในระดับสากล
