Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) was delighted to welcome Mr. Tomas Wigerfelt from Jönköping University, Sweden, on October 26-27, 2025. The visit, hosted by the Center for International Affairs, aimed to strengthen academic ties and explore opportunities for collaboration in engineering, innovation, and cooperative education. During the two-day visit, discussions focused on potential collaboration in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, as well as on developing internship and cooperative education opportunities that would benefit students from both universities.
The delegation also participated in comprehensive facility tours, visiting SUT’s state-of-the-art laboratories in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering and Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering. The visit included tours of startups at the Regional Science Park, including Suratec and Surazense, showcasing SUT’s commitment to bridging academic research with industrial applications. These interactions provided valuable insights into SUT’s research capabilities and innovation ecosystem, while opening pathways for future collaborative projects, student mobility programs, and industry partnerships between Jönköping University and SUT.
