เมื่อวันที่ 12 ธันวาคม 2562 รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สิริโชค จึงถาวรรณ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์กิจการนานาชาติ ให้การต้อนรับท่านกงสุลคมคาย พระวรชัย พร้อมคณะ จากสถานกงสุลใหญ่สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตรประชาชนลาว ณ จังหวัดขอนแก่น ในโอกาสเดินทางมาเยือนเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการดูแลนักศึกษาจากาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตรประชาชนลาวที่ศึกษาอยู่ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี จำนวน 10 คน และเพื่อสานสัมพันธ์ความร่วมมืออันดีระหว่างสถานกงสุลใหญ่กับมหาวิทยาลัยฯ ณ ห้องประชุม C2-123 อาคารวิชาการ 2

นักศึกษาชาวเมียนมาและกัมพูชารับทุน Thailand Scholarships ศึกษาต่อ ณ มทส.
ตามที่สำนักงานปลัดกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม ได้ดำเนินการจัดสรรทุนการศึกษาภายใต้โครงการ Thailand Scholarships ประจำปีการศึกษา 2562 สำหรับชาวกัมพูชา ลาว และเมียนมา เพื่อศึกษาต่อ ณ สถาบันการศึกษาของประเทศไทย ในการนี้ มีนักศึกษาจากเมียนมาจำนวน 1 คน ได้แก่ Ms. Nyein Nyein Aye และนักศึกษาจากกัมพูชา จำนวน 1 คนได้แก่ Ms. Moeurng Sreylak เข้าศึกษาต่อ ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารีเริ่มตั้งแต่ในปีการศึกษา 2562
