สืบเนื่องจากความสัมพันธ์ระดับมหาวิทยาลัยระหว่าง Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) และ มทส. ที่มีอย่างต่อเนื่องทั้งในระดับคณาจารย์ เจ้าหน้าที่ และ นักศึกษา และจากการหารือโดยผู้บริหารระดับสูงของ ITS กับผู้บริหาร มทส. ณ เมืองสุราบายา สาธารณรัฐอินโดนีเซีย เมื่อวันที่ 12 ก.ค. 61 เพื่อหารือถึงแนวทางในการขยายการสร้างความร่วมมือทางด้านวิชาการ วิจัย และการสร้างความเป็นสากล ทางมหาวิทยาลัยฯ โดย ศูนย์กิจการนานาชาติ สำนักวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ สำนักวิชาวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ ส่วนส่งเสริมวิชาการ ส่วนกิจการนักศึกษา จึงได้ร่วมดำเนินโครงการจัดทำหลักสูตรความร่วมมือและกิจกรรมระหว่าง SUT-ITS เพื่อยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ให้สูงขึ้น โดยคณะเดินทางประกอบด้วย 1) รศ. ดร.สิริโชค จึงถาวรรณ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์กิจการนานาชาติ 2) Prof. Dr. James R.Ketudat-Cairns หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาเคมี 3) อ.
