Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) is now accepting applications from SUT students for the prestigious Mitacs Globalink Research Internship, offering fourth-year undergraduate students an excellent opportunity to conduct research at Canadian universities.
The application deadline is September 17, 2025, for internship periods running from May to October 2026. This competitive 12-week summer research program is designed for top international senior undergraduate students from a wide range of academic disciplines.
Mitacs is a Canadian non-profit organization that fosters research and innovation through partnerships among universities, industry, and government. The organization provides funding, training, and collaborative programs to support research talent, promote international exchange, and drive economic and social impact.
The Globalink Research Internship offers comprehensive benefits including up to CAD 12,000 funding that covers air travel, health insurance, living allowance, housing support, and mentorship. Students are matched with Canadian faculty supervisors at universities across Canada, providing hands-on research experience and opportunities to build academic and professional networks.
Key program features include eligibility for undergraduate students from various academic disciplines, research opportunities available across Canada, and no additional cost to participating students. The program allows students to study and learn in Canada, then return to their home country with valuable knowledge and international networks.
Every year, Mitacs receives over 25,000 applications for approximately 2,000 internship placements, making this a highly competitive and prestigious opportunity. SUT covers one grant up to CAD 4,000, with Mitacs covering the remaining costs, subject to resource availability.
